Management Profiles
O Koo
O Koo is an energy expert, with almost a decade of experience in China. He is recognized by his proven track record in anticipating, advising, and implementing sustainability practices and energy solutions across consumer and industrial sectors; extending to clients like Nike, Marriott, Citibank, Wal-Mart, and various S&MEs in China.
O Koo has worked alongside multiple governments, assisted with new legislation and adoption of energy efficiency policies throughout Asia Pacific. O Koo is currently the Managing Partner at Noether Associates, a China based energy research and consulting firm. He also serves as an Executive Consultant to Dow Chemical Co., an Executive Member with Joint US-China Collaboration on Clean Energy (JUCCCE), and a Climate Ambassador for Al Gore's Climate Project.
O Koo began his career as an investment banker with Merrill Lynch, and later joined General Electric where he held various leadership roles including Quality Leader at GE Industrial Systems, and General Manager for GE Asia's Lighting business. O Koo has appeared on television, keynote presenter at international conferences on energy efficiency, guest speaker for universities including Harvard, INSEAD, NSU, Stanford, etc., and most recently, he attended Asia's New Leader Dialogue in Jakarta.
Franklin Yao
Franklin has spent his career advising financial services, insurance, and professional services organizations in both Asia and North America in the areas of investment strategy, China market entry, offshoring and outsourcing, analytics, business strategy, operations reengineering, and strategic sourcing.
Franklin is currently the CEO of SmithStreetSolutions. Additionally, Franklin is a Partner at Glocal Strategy, China's leading PR agency, a strategic advisor for JUCCCE, a joint US-China NGO for clean energy development, and Deputy Chairman of the Shanghai Yangpu High-Tech District Overseas Chinese Committee. Franklin received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and East Asian Studies from Yale University.
Robin Kerawala
Robin has been advising North American clients in the areas of strategic procurement and outsourcing for more than 10 years. He has served clients in the financial services, professional services, manufacturing, and government sectors. Robin's work in China extends across advising in business strategy, strategic sourcing, investment strategy, and China market entry. Robin graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
Jonathan Li
Jonathan Li brings over a decade of entrepreneurial and consumer product design experience to the Noether team. He has designed everything from Motorola's first touch screen mobile phones to Skyworth's next generation television interface to FLIR's marine thermal cameras. He is the founder of Asentio Design (a consumer electronics product design consultancy), JustGrapes (a wine retail store and lounge), and Aqumula Communications (a mobile internet software solutions provider).
In recent years, Jonathan has focused on sustainable design practices. He believes that green design is most cost effective when designed properly from the start, as design constraints drive innovation and change.
Jonathan holds a Masters degree in Human Factors Product Design from Tufts University, and a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
